Russian President Vladimir Putin’s telephone conversation with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan

On May 13, 2019 President of Russia Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Turkish side’s initiative.<br />
Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan continued a substantive exchange of views on the key aspects of the Syrian crisis with an emphasis on the situation in Idlib de-escalation zone in connection with more frequent ceasefire violations by radical armed groups.<br />
They underscored the importance of a close coordination of the Russian and Turkish efforts, including between their defence agencies on a variety of aspects of the Syrian settlement.<br />
The two leaders also discussed pressing issues on the agenda of their bilateral political, trade and economic relations as well as some international problems.<br />
Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan agreed to continue their contacts.<br />
